WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT GRANITE

COLOR VARIATION Samples represent the general color and pattern
of the stone. Exact duplication cannot be guaranteed. Granite is a natural
stone and-will have variation in color and shading. This is a unique characteristic that is to be expected.

FISSURES
Some granite contains natural fissures, which may look like cracks, but do not effect the structural durability of the stone. They are caused by immense heat and pressure over millions of years. They are no cause for concern.

GRAINING Some granite has specks of formed carbon or quartz embedded in the stone, while others have larger particles of calcified wood. You also may find some stones have very fine veining and channeling, which results from molten rocks slowly cooling as it trickles through the hardening stone.

SEAMS Some jobs will require seams. Seams will be established based on slab size, esthetic considerations, practicality of handling and installation. Slab sizes are random and determining seams depends on the specifications of the job. The horizontal stone-to-stone seams are filled with epoxy, which will be color coordinated. A 1/16" gap between pieces is normal for seams.

SURFACE PITS Granite may have tiny pits. Granite is polished to remove all scratches from the surface. During this process, some crystals "pop" from pressure, leaving small, shallow pits. They cannot be polished out. These characteristics are part of natural stone and do not affect the structural integrity of the stone.
